Information on the disposal of waste electrical equipment
Beelonia also manufactures and sells smokers, kettles, drying cabinets, grills, and controls with electrical equipment. In accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), we inform you here about the return and disposal of disused equipment.
Separate collection of waste equipment
Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste does not belong in household waste (unsorted municipal waste). It must be collected separately and disposed of properly. This keeps pollutants away and allows raw materials to be recycled.
Remove batteries, rechargeable batteries, and lamps beforehand
Waste batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the waste equipment, as well as lamps that can be removed from the waste equipment without destroying them, must be removed and disposed of separately before handing them in. Lithium-containing batteries can catch fire if damaged or short-circuited: tape the terminals and only hand them in at designated collection points.
Where you can hand in waste equipment
You can hand in waste equipment free of charge at the collection points of the public waste disposal authorities, for example at the recycling centre in your city or municipality.
In addition, according to Section 17 of the ElektroG, certain distributors are obliged to take back equipment free of charge:
- Retailers with a sales area for electrical and electronic equipment of at least 400 m² and food retailers with a total sales area of at least 800 m² who offer electrical equipment several times a calendar year or permanently,
- Online and mail-order retailers whose storage and shipping areas for electrical and electronic equipment are at least 400 m² in size.
When you buy a new appliance, these distributors will take back an old appliance of the same type that essentially fulfils the same functions. They will also take back small waste equipment with no external dimension greater than 25 cm without you having to buy a new one, up to a maximum of three items per type of equipment. In mail-order retail, free collection at the place of delivery is offered for heat exchangers, screens, and large appliances; for other appliances, there are suitable return options at a reasonable distance.
Beelonia is not one of the distributors obliged to take back equipment and does not operate its own take-back point. Please hand in your waste equipment free of charge at a municipal collection point. If you have any questions, our service team will be happy to help on 02586 275 or at info@beelonia.de.
Deleting personal data
As the end user, you are responsible for deleting personal data on the waste equipment, for example on a control unit or a connected computer, before handing it in.
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol
The symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin on an electrical or electronic appliance means that the appliance must not be disposed of in household waste at the end of its service life, but must be collected separately.
